July 17, 2011: Porch Party Mamas played to an enthusiastic sold-out audience (!) at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in CT.

“You Call That Behaving???” (Actual quote overheard by audience member tonight after watching PPM performance at Johnny D’s Uptown.)

We “popped the cork and ripped it open” tonight (and gee, the gig at Johnny D’s was pretty awesome too)!  The house was rockin’ tonight at Chick Singer Night, with the help of hosts Jen Truesdale, Kristin Bythewood, and other local female singer-songwiters from the Boston area (including our pal, Liz Cook) in a benefit concert for arts programs in Somerville schools.

Other notable quotes from the evening include:

“Sometimes real life needs tweaking!” — Kelly Riley, forgetting the details of her story

“It’s about time I got the spotlight!” — Jane Grondin, after an evening of unusual stage lighting.

“Well cows always graze in the gardens in Switzerland!”  – Katrin Peterson, surprised that her garden burger was actually made of vegetables

“The song ‘The Shirtless Spaniard’ was inspired by Felicia!”  (Felicia makes coy expression and promptly departs)

“Wait a minute, there’s no *!@%-ing quotes of me here!” — Ksenia Mack, after reading this blog post.
